MakeOffices at Glover Park Grand Opening Popup Palooza

The MakeOffices at Glover Park grand opening Popup Palooza was a huge success! We had over 500 people attend our informative panel discussions, experience over 50 popups from the surrounding Glover Park community and beyond, and network with local entrepreneurs, and business leaders.

Our first panel, Pitch Perfect, featured a powerful lineup of DC entrepreneurs and innovators that shared tips and tricks on pitching your business to investors. Our panelists included Brian Leventhal of District Winery, Otessa Ghadar of DC Web Fest, Cameron Heffernan of Mach Media, Stephen Kae of Fast Rope Labs, and David Jack of Get Well Networks. The panel was moderated by Morgan Fykes. It was a great discussion centered around the experiences of these entrepreneurs and the struggles and challenges they faced when pitching their business ideas, and really themselves. A full replay of the panel can be found here.

Our second panel focused on social media, and specifically how to get more followers and sustain an online community. The panelists were Mona Lavinia of Fit District, Diana Morales of Lust Local DC, Elise Crawford of Kale and Chocolate, and AJ Dronkers of Edible DC. The moderator was Carl Maynard of Walk with Locals. Attendees came away with actionable ideas to break through the content noise in social media, and how to stay relevant.

Our final panel was the Art of the Popup, and featured Margot Pien of SoFar Sounds, Patrick Rife of Pixelated, John Victoria of Polianna, and Derek Nickerson of Poppir. Click here to get the full replay of the panel.

Speaking of popups, we had over 50 local businesses from the surrounding community participate in our popup palooza. We had everyone from Balance Gym to, STEM Lending, ERGO Rx, Awarables, Sweetgreen, KIND, and more. Our guests enjoyed walking around the space and learning more about each of the businesses. It was a great way to bring together leading creatives, entrepreneurs, and business leaders from the vibrant DC area community, which is the goal of our coworking spaces.

We followed up the panels with happy hour and tastings from our friends at Republic Restoratives and Wide World of Wines.
