Lessons From DC Tech Guru Jonathon Perrelli’s “Startup Rollercoaster”

Posted December 2, 2016 by office

Balancing a demanding professional career and family life is like a “rollercoaster,” especially if that involves running a startup. That’s exactly what our November Hindsight 20/20 speaker, Jonathon Perrelli, described in a Technical.ly feature. Each month, our speaker series features the stories of successful entrepreneurs to give back to the DC tech community that has given us so much.

Over the course of his 20-year career, Jonathon has founded seven startups – his most recent being LifeFuels, the world’s first smart nutrition bottle. He’s also an early-stage investor and filmmaker, and he’s done all of this while balancing family life.

In a candid conversation with Shana Glenzer, MakeOffices CMO, founder of DCFemTech, and DC Tech Meetup organizer, Jonathon shared the lessons he learned on his “startup rollercoaster” and things he wished he knew in hindsight.

In case you missed it, check out this video for highlights from Jonathon’s insightful Hindsight 20/20 talk. Spoiler alert: Sean Parker (Co-founder of Napster and the first president of Facebook) was one of Jonathon’s first ever hires!

You won’t want to miss out on our next Hindsight 20/20 on December 7. We’re featuring Anna Mason, Director of Investments for Revolution LLC‘s “Rise of the Rest” platform and Co-Director of The Vinetta Project. Check out our meetup page for more information.
