Meet Christian Neonakis, Tysons Community Manager

Posted November 29, 2018 by Manu Aggarwal

At MakeOffices, our Community Managers are the heart of our coworking spaces. They make sure members are taken care of and everything runs as smooth as possible. They are problem-solvers, networkers, event planners, and more. We sat down with Christian Neonakis, Community Manager at our coworking space in Tysons Corner, to learn more about him, and what makes our Tysons community so unique.

Tell us more about yourself.

Christian: I’ve been playing music in a band for a long time. I love the outdoors, especially combined with music. It’s a perfect fit for my personality.

How did you become a Community Manager?

Christian: My best friend Patrick McNally is Procurement Director. He introduced me to MakeOffices, and the role.

What’s your favorite part about being a Community Manager?

Christian: Member interaction day-to-day for sure. We have a lot of great members at Tysons, and I feel like a lot of members have become my friends. We have genuine conversations every day, and it’s become a really healthy environment for me to be immersed in.

What’s unique about MakeOffices Tysons?

Christian: By far our members. Tysons is really a business hub, and everyone is willing to engage and talk to each other in a casual, yet professional atmosphere. Our members now hang out outside of work, and it’s been great to see the professional and personal relationships develop while I’ve been here.

What do you do to support members?

Christian: Hosting events for sure. We try to create unique networking opportunities that are fun and facilitate connections. We also encourage our members to have events, and showcase their businesses through lunch and learns.

Outside of being a Community Manager, what do you do for fun?

Christian: I make music and play in a band called Kid Brother. I love being outdoors and camping, and love to go to the gym. The band takes up most of my time outside of work.

How long have you been playing in your band?

Christian: The Band has been active for about 2 years, and it’s been building momentum. We’ve played at the 9:30 Club, Black Cat, and Union Stage.

What’s one fun fact that people don’t know about you?

Christian: I have a house in Greece that I’ve never been to.

What’s your favorite album or song?

Christian: David Bowie – The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

Christian: The ability to manipulate spacetime with your brain.
