No Justice, No Peace

Make Members,

As you know, the state of our country is currently in major flux. As described yesterday by Barack Obama, we are witnessing “the kinds of epic changes and events in our country that are as profound as anything I’ve seen in my lifetime”.  We are experiencing an enormous shift in our focus, both individually and as a nation, and rightfully so. There are critical matters at hand and now is the time to act boldly to support our Black community.

This weekend, the people of Washington D.C. are participating in a collective effort to demand an end to systemic racism, police brutality, and political injustices like so many have witnessed recently. Join Freedom Fighters DC at the Dirksen Senate Office at 2pm on Saturday in a peaceful protest, discussion, and march. See you there.

In a continued effort to foster connections, support those who support us, and simply do the right thing, we are coordinating drop-offs at each of our locations to bring much-needed supplies to those fighting at the front. The people of D.C. need us now, and we want to do our part. Take any number of the following supplies to any MakeOffices lobby in the DMV area and we will ensure they are taken to Red Bear Brewery before Saturday’s march. Please notify us if you drop something off so that we can ensure it is included in the pick up.

  • Individually packaged snacks – Protein bars, jerky, etc.
  • Electrolyte tablets/packets, Gatorade powder
  • Pedialyte
  • Bottled Water
  • Runner Gu
  • Individual Sunscreen
  • Medical Supplies
  • Ear Plugs
  • Baby Shampoo
  • Saline
  • Traffic Cones*
  • Carts/Wagons*
  • Hand carts/dollies
  • Folding Tables
  • Shatterproof eyewear
*Items with an asterisk are high priority

**Please do not bring bulk food, homemade medical supplies, or glass containers**

Many of you love and support MakeOffices because of the personal connections we help foster, both on-site and off. So let us be clear: YOU are the reason we exist, and we value each and every one of you. MakeOffices is just a group of individuals, a series of close connections, and we wouldn’t be here without you. We thank you for your continued support, and we hope you’ll join us in putting our efforts where they need to be right now.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions. As always, be safe and be well.
